Unit height
(digit/character height)
We produce displays with a wide range of unit heights (digit/character heights), to meet demands for legibility in a variety of situations.
When calculating the unit height that fits your needs, use the following formula:
(Required max. distance in meters x 2) =
Unit height in mm.
Please note that this is a rule of thumb: other factors, such as dust, haze, vibration, etc., can also influence the final decision.
Instrumeter´s displays show red symbols by standard, but custom colours (yellow, green, blue and white) can be specified.
You can choose between the following light sources in your display:
Displays with light modules
Red, 7-segment units combined in modules. Provides crisp, well-defined characters/numerals with an evenly dispersed emission of light within each digit. The light intensity, however, is too low to recommend these units for outdoor, daylight application.
Displays with light-emitting diodes
Red, 7-segment units built up of discreet diodes, placed in a grid. Although each character is comprised of points of bright light, lending these units a slightly more 'jagged' appearance, these units also provide easily legible characters. The aesthetic loss is compensated by the high intensity of light, producing displays that are applicable out of doors in full sunshine.
